[Artemisia] Arts and Sciences Dates

I agree. It just wouldn't work to do both at the same time. We don't have
a big enough population base to have teachers, judges, and contestants going
in several directions at once. I do like the idea of having some kind of
Arts and Science type activities scheduled, for anyone who might have the
time, though.

Well, one problem with this is that nearly every artisan who isn't competing
for Champion at the Kingdom Arts and Sciences Competition ends up judging.
Many Laurels end up judging from the end of opening Court until the dinner
break, sometimes without time for lunch. This means that many of the people
who normally teach and attend classes at Collegium would be unable to do so,
if they were held at the same time. On the other hand, it would be lovely
to have some arts-related activities going on at the same time as the
competition, for those who do have free time. I don't think this could
replace an actual collegium, though.

Offering a thought,

Whay say you of having the Collegium and the Competition on the same
weekend?
Where one can see what the Art or Science project would be like when
finished,
so the students can see clearly what are working toward.

Have it in mid to late May so the finished projects can be ready for the
summer
camping season. This way wood working, smithing, and dying projects can be
completed and submitted for consideration in the competition.

Regional could be in the cold months so that adjustments can be made for the

projects to be entered in the Kingdom level competition in the spring.

Kind regards,

where we could have outdoor classes such as woad
dyeing, blacksmithing, fighting classes etc. and have competition in the
winter where indoor space is more amenable to displays.
