Greetings to All of Artemisia from the Arn Hold Minister of Stables!

We are very pleased that there will be Equestrian and Hound Activities at Raptor War, over Labor Day Weekend, September 3-6. Everyone from the kingdom is invited to join us. There will be several opportunities for riding, and hounds coursing.

There will be rental horses available on-site, but if you are interested in riding in any of the events or the trail ride on Friday, please contact Mu'allemah Yasmeena (her contact information is below) to make arrangements for a mount.

The cost for rentals is $40 a day and can be divided between two riders (except for the trail ride). These are experienced horses, familiar with the games. They all make fine competitive mounts.

You may, of course, bring your own mount, but please read the requirements listed below.

There will be hounds coursing activities on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

This is a pet friendly site. Dogs must remain on a lead or in an X-pen. Please be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet.

For information, see the contacts listed at the end of this message.

Requirements and Recommendations for

Bringing Horses to Raptor War

Requirements

Equestrians need to check in with either the Equestrian Marshal in Charge or Equestrian Event Steward upon arrival. All equestrians will be responsible for horse care and arena duties.
Please provide proof of Coggins test. See the EMIC or the Eq. Steward before unloading your horse. Idaho horses need the test once every two years. Owners may leave a copy on file.
Bring weed free hay or alfalfa cubes.
There are no stables. Bring either a containment fence, or high-ties.
All horse owners need to camp with their horses on the south end of the event site.
All riders need to be authorized. Riders who are not authorized need to inform the EMIC at check-in so arrangements can be made to authorize before tournaments.
Weapons will be inspected prior to tournaments.

Recommendations

It has been firmly established that the West Nile virus is in Idaho. Vaccination is strongly recommended.
   Strangles vaccination is recommended.
Trails are rocky. If you plan to ride them, shoes are recommended.
There are a lot of flies and mosquitoes. Spray is recommended.

General Information

There is a stream on site that can be used to water your horse. It is not potable for human consumption.
Rental horses will be available on site. Please contact Mu’allemah Yasmeena for information.
