Frossayeah (Arabic, furrssiyya)... a mounted military skill-at-arms
tournament, in Middle Eastern style, sponsored by Mu'allemah Yasmeeena,
Minister of the Royal Stables of Artemisia, for the Honor and Genius of
Middle Eastern arts and sciences.

Rules:
Equestrians will be heralded into the arena where each will ride a
challenge course of drills. These drills were used in period for training
the mounted Mameluke Farris. The top five scores will advance to a final
round where the winner of the tournament will be presented with
"baksheesh" (a gift) of fine Oriental design. "Baksheesh" to go to the
highest score in each drill as well.

The drills and weapons for the tournament are: Reed Chop with a 36"-42"
sword (IKEQC rules), Birjas with a 5'-7' blunted javelin, Pigsticking
with a 7'-9' spear and Javelin/Spear Tossing. Style points will be
awarded to riders in persona who accomplish their drills with style and
speed. The tournament ends with a victory ride for all.

Sign in, rental arrangements, practice/warm-up time and weapon's
authorization will begin 1 hour prior to tournament start. Start time is
proposed to be 4pm. Unless your are providing your own herald, make sure
the lists-herald has a copy of how you desire to be introduced.

Saturday:

Horsemen of the Known World, do water, armored enemy, highway robbers and
other such obstacles discourage you from delivering important documents?
If not, come and see if you and your gallant steed can overcome these
challenges and as well as others, at Estrella War's 1st Annual
Messenger's Challenge Course. This challenge course encompasses those
obstacles that a Messenger would encounter on their way to delivering
important Courtly Documents. All skill levels are encouraged to
participate. This Equestrian Event requires horsemanship, skill at arms,
and sound thinking. Registration begins at 2 PM and the first horse and
rider starts at 3 PM. You must be an Authorized Equestrian to participate
in this event. Contact Baron Diego at sundragoncoronet at cox.net for any
questions

Sunday: 10 AM

"Equestrian Champions" you are invited to display your honor and skill
for your Queen during the "Queen's Equestrian Champions Tourney". All
Champions must have the sponsorship of a Queen and be an authorized
rider. An additional tourney open to all will be held following the
Queen's Tourney.
Champions please register prior to Sunday if you wish to compete.
Tournament will start promptly at 10:00.
The Tourney will consist of a mounted joust against the quintain. But to
make things more interesting and challenging, two riders will be
competing simultaneously against a quintain specially designed to allow
for one winner. Riders will be separated by a 6' lane to prevent any
actual contact. Lances 10' and under will be allowed for this
competition. I will have the course set-up throughout the war to allow
for practice.
