This came from a costuming list I'm on, and I was pretty sure some of
you'd be interested.

Gale Owen-Crocker just e-mailed me with the news that her new edition of
_Dress in Anglo-Saxon England_ has reached the publisher's warehouse. I'm
guessing, then, it should be shipping on schedule or earlier (the official
release date is Nov. 30).

You can see a list of the contents, and order a copy, here:

When it says "Revised and enlarged edition," that's an understatement.
Those of you who already know the first edition as *the* word in dress in
this period will be delighted by the wealth of new information --
including much archaeological evidence -- in this book. I have only seen
bits and pieces so far, so I look forward to some surprises when I get to
read the whole thing.

Those of you who go to the International Medieval Congresses at Kalamazoo
or Leeds should be able to get the book at conference discount, if you can
wait that long ;-)
