Sorry I missed your first missive. This sounds VERY interesting. Could you tell me more about when you would be shopping and when you would plan to have the "after shopping" event?

Can you also tell me how far away the Ben Lomond is from the Marriot?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cross-posted to Gryphon's Lair & Loch Salaan lists. Feel free to forward to
any other local lists for Artemisia.

About a month ago I posted on this list to see if anyone would be interested
in visiting the merchants' hall of the national costuming convention that
will take place in Ogden the weekend of April 30. Many Artemisian
garb-lovers will be in town that Saturday for Convocation, so I was thinking
this will be an excellent opportunity to meet costumers from other kingdoms,
shop for rare items, and discuss projects over coffee and pie.

Costume-Con23 is expected to bring in all the big names in hard-to-find
costuming supplies: Lacis, Hedgehog Handworks, Past Patterns, etc. CC23
co-organizer Dave Doering told me that the merchant booths will be located
for easy access by foot traffic in the Ogden Marriott Hotel, in the
Cottonwood Room. (The vendors specifically requested that they be made
available to shoppers NOT attending the convention as well as
convention-goers.) Doering has also promised to e-mail me the list of
confirmed merchants. I'll post that information as soon as I get it.

I've already had one reply from an East Kingdom SCAdian who will be teaching
a class at CC23; our own Lady Ashe'el is rounding up stitching buddies in
Loch Salaan and other parts; I also recall at least two other Artemisians in
far-flung reaches who expressed an interest several weeks ago. I'd like to
start planning the logistics for a post-shopping snack session at a local
diner sometime in the late afternoon, when Convocation is most likely
wrapped up. This could turn into quite a nice session of chatting, bargain
bragging, and solving whatever knotty issues of research and construction
you may care to bring.

If you're interested in attending this *informal,* **unofficial** gathering,
please drop me a line off-list. The more accurate the head count, the better
I can line up a comfortable, inexpensive place to natter and nosh that's
between the Convocation site and the costumers' hotel.

Feel free to pass this missive around in its entirety.
