here in Ard Ruadh we have A & S compititions at almost every event, just to encourage the members in our area to show what they are learning, usually they are juged by populous choice or by visiting nobility should any be in attendance, we have been blessed by their Excellencies Tryggvar and Brenna of Loc Sallan who have managed to be presentr in our area several time during their time in service to the Barony. I would like to see those humble compititions count on a larger scale. So maybe there is good cause for this tourney style A & S.

Here's hoping,

A more relaxed atmosphere is definately less intimidating for many people. People seem to show in greater numbers at a prize tourney (usually a Laurel prize tourney). Supporting A&S by sponsoring small tourneys at all kinds of events would (hopefully) encourage more participation.

This kingdom has a lot of thinking to do, and some good ideas are yet out there waiting to be brought forth (come on people, you know you have it in you).

This is a concept I would support, I think it merits looking in to. kinda give it that science fair atmosphere.

I would like to propose that something like the new Combat Tourney format be considered for A&S.

Points A&S of some sort held at every Kingdom level event & at local events when realistic with points awarded toward an A&S championship.

This would expose everyone attending larger events to A&S.

It would also get A&S out from the "Preaching to the converted" situation we find it in now. Only those already very interested in A&S are the only ones who attend A&S events!

It would take some exploration to figure out how to make it work, but I think that it is a workable alternative.
