Dragons Champion UPDATE!!!!!

The heavens have spoken and Dragon’s Champion will no longer be a camping event and no longer at Iron springs!!! The message came via a huge tree falling on the bathrooms and the Forest Service closing the site.

The big changes are

The event will now be a day event (on Sat June 25 2005, yes that is a week and a half away) at Constitution Park in Roosevelt UT. (That is about an hour closer to SLC than the old site J) Instead of our traditional breakfast we will now be having a potluck BBQ. Bring a side dish of some sort and the shire will provide the burgers and dogs J. We will eat at around 5 PM.

And of course the fighting

Dragons Champion Tourney.

In the interest of providing for the gratification of those persons interested in the mutual exchange of quasi-controlled, frequently replicated, arguably historically accurate perpetuation of civilized, semi-civilized, and barely civilized violence you will be pleased to know there will be a number of opportunities for you to constructively and liberally apply death, destruction and dismemberment to your closest personal friends. Amongst these competitions there will be held THE new and improved Dragons Champion tourney, which will determine the Heavy Armored Champion of the Shire of Dragonmarch. This tourney will involve a number of combative forms so be certain to bring a full array of destructive implements.

Furthermore there will be held a light armored version of aforementioned new and improved Dragons Champion tourney, which will determine the Light Armored Champion of the Shire of Dragonmarch. There will be a virtual treasure trove of prizes for these tournaments and with a treasure trove, virtual or otherwise there will most certainly be a fabulous prize prepared for your imminent victory. At the end of the day, when the dust clears, the blood dries and the bodies of the fallen have removed themselves from the field there will be held a Bardic competition the victor of this competition will receive plundering rights from aforementioned virtual treasure trove.

Competitors in the combative arts are invited to display their arms at the tourney field where the lists will be displayed on a shield board for all to see. The shields used for the lists should be 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide. For the heraldically challenged, there will be blank shields and paints as well as “loaner arms” available for those who do not wish to provide their personal arms.
