For those who want original source document pictures, the New York 
Public Library has put its digital gallery online for free at the link 
below. Check out the subject listings, or the general topics. Under 
"Culture & Society" for instance, are links to "Illuminated Hebrew 
Manuscripts" and to "Medieval and Renaissance Illuminated Manuscripts 
from Western Europe", among other things. NYPL has one of the finest 
collections in the world - dig in and enjoy.
