[Artemisia] A New Debate - Pay to Play

Hi Kormac,

My opinion as far as non-members attending events or fighting at practices
is, it can be forever, if that is what they want... There may be some folks
who attend an event or two a year, just for the enjoyment of the day and
have no interest in playing on a more involved level. If so, they can pay
the non-member fees, come and have fun. However, in my experience fighters
of any 'flavor' tend to *want* to fight at events, so they will pay their
membership fees. I can't remember running across any fighter who went to
the effort and expense of obtaining armor and learning to fight who hasn't
wanted to become an authorized fighter and fight at events. And then there
is always the case of a fighter who may have a lapsed membership who can
still enjoy fighting at practices until he/she is able to renew their
membership. I have no problem with that concept.

On the other hand, after a while if people make no effort to get thier own
clothing and or armor, sooner or later long time members mayl get tired of
outfitting them, and they may find themselves in a position of having to get
their own things or not play...
