I don't think the "u-haul" logo would be any worse than the "one way" or 
whatever on the back of so many shields <bg>!

However, to your point, moving blankets have been used successfully for many 
years at gambeson material.

Sir Daniel, who is formally of Sentinals Keep (and I think a lurker on this 
list) had a gambeson made of a moving blanket.  It worked out well.

As a matter of fact, I've seen moving blanket gambesons that were so well 
used, and so seldom washed, that once you took it off, you only had to 
whistle to it, and it would follow you to the car to be packed......

It actually became a biological weapon all by itself, rendering your worthy 
opponent stunned if you choose carefully to have the wind at your back. 
However, such a gambeson was something of an obstacle to approaching the 
fair, non-fighting lasses!
