I've read about companion plantings, but most of the authors who advocate it pair roses with some variety of allium. The thought of mingling garlic and onions with my damasks and Austins doesn't appeal to me at all. Strawberries do.   I'll have to try that once I put in the watering system.
 
I do hope to finally meet your  rosebushes some time this spring. :)
