[Artemisia] More info about Volunteering at Uprising

We may or may not bring our children with us to Uprising. If we do bring them.. then they are our first priority. I will not try to find a babysitter or pawn my children off on someone else so that I can volunteer a few hours. My husband and I both participate in different activities that go on at the event and we schedule what we can do around which one of us will be with our boys. I pay good money to come spend my one vacation of the year with my friends. Ask me to volunteer, let me decide on my own to volunteer... but please don't tell me I have to or that someone else in my household will have to take my hours for me. Guilting people into volunteering is never good. I know how hard it is to run events and how essential volunteers are, but I think you should allow households (etc) to decide whether or not they want to be in the 'volunteer hours competition' rather than telling them they have to.

This is just my opinion. It is not meant to be hurtful to anyone. Uprising is just my vacation.....

Ok here goes,
All children under the age of 10 will not count towards the number of
hours that we want each group to contribute. From the ages of 10-18 we
would like them to complete 0.5 - 1 hour/per that age group.
Example:

You have 40 people
10 adults
20 under the age of 10
10 between the age of 10-18

The adults are responsible for 10-20 hours
The young adults are responsible for 5-10 hours
For a grand total of the group of 15-30 hours.

Unfortunately taking care of the wrack would not constitute volunteer hours.

We hope that this clears up the confusion, but if there are more questions,
we will do our best to answer quickly. This is a new process for all, so we
are working out the kinks in the process, and we appreciate your patience
and understanding.
