[Artemisia] Hellsgate report

Greeting unto everyone,

    I figured a report of this past weekend activities in Sentinels' Keep 
might be desired by a few folks so here I am to bring the news to you!

    The Event of Hellsgate Tourney was held at the Larry Creek campground 
just south of the main hold of their Excellencies. The turnout was small, 
however I believe everyone had a good time. Friday was mainly a set-up day 
and a get out of the heat type of day. That eve many gathered around the 
kitchen tent of Sir Uggedei's household to feast upon great food provided by 
House Altan Ordu. The rest of the eve was uneventful as a few remained 
around the fire to share stories and tell tales and laugh.
     Saturday started of with another gathering around the kitchen of Altan 
Ordu for some grand omelettes. Their Majesties arrived safely during the 
morning and were warmly welcomed. After breakfast was had a local group from 
the area brought in some wonderful dogs (I am so sorry I cannot remember the 
breeds, I believe Anatolians?) and taught a small class on them. Dame 
Bronwen taught a class on weaving small garlic baskets. During the afternoon 
a young warrior from Altan Ordu approached his Majesty wishing to test his 
skill against the Gryphon King. His Majesty and Kele took the field and a 
mighty clash was here as sword met shield. Shortly there after the populace 
gathered in the longhouse and a polling was taken to see if Their 
Excellencies would remain.
     The Afternoon also saw more warriors take to the field as word spread 
that a visiting Knight from Avacal was dressed halfway in his armor and was 
wishing a fight. A squire of Sir Uggedei deemed it would not be right to 
have a Knight go about without his wish of a fight fulfiled. Sir Thorwulf, 
Mistress Morgan and Squire Kormak showing determination braved the heat and 
much good fighting was done and witnessed.
     After the fighters had their fill (Although I truly believe that good 
Sir Thorwulf will never truly get his fill, the man can fight forever) Court 
was held. Dame Annys served as herald for their Majesties and opened Royal 
Court, Kyrie was called forward and awarded the Gryphons pride after which 
Her Excellecy Baroness Dierdre was called forward and awarded a Golden Maple 
Leaf that was orginally meant for her during the reign of Timmur and Tianna. 
Kele was called forward and His Majesty pardoned him for striking the King, 
even with Sir Kian gladly offering up Kings law, Kele was then awarded a 
Gryphons Pride. Their Majesties court recessed and the court of Their 
Excellencies was opened. Mistress Gefjon as the event steward was called 
forwarded and given a gift for her hard work on the event. McCaila (Kormaks 
daughter) was called forth and given a gift of some floss, thread, needles 
and a pair of scissors in thanks for her hard work during the baronies 4th 
of july demo. The outgoing officers of the barony were then called forward 
and released from their duties, to which Dame Annys seemed very relieved as 
if the weight of the world had been lifted from her shoulders:-) Then M'Lady 
Aillenn, M'Lord Miles, Baroness Dierdre and Lord Kormak came forward and 
were sworn in as new officers of the Barony. Before court for their 
Excellencies was closed His Lordship Weasel visiting from An Tir came 
forward and presented gifts to their Excellencies and Their Majesties and 
the Baronial court was closed.
     Royal Court was reopened and Lord Kormak was called forward and 
presented with a Golden Gryphons Talon, His Majesty then removed the talon 
that hung from his own neck and presented it to Lord Kormak. Her Majesty the 
asked Lord Kormak to bring forward the young lady they had talked about 
earlier and he did as her Majesty asked and McCaila was then Awarded with a 
Gryphons Pride. The new Seneschal of Sentinels' Keep was called forward and 
M'Lady Aillenn was awarded an Award of Arms. Dame Annys presented His 
Majesty with a book that he seemed more than pleased with and then their 
Majesties called forward all that were attending their first event and gave 
tokens and welcomed them. Court was closed. (Their was another AoA awarded 
to a Lady who was not present and whose name I forgot if anyone remembers 
please post so everyone knows!)
     After court the crowd once again formed around the Kitchen of Altan 
Ordu to enjoy good food and friendship. During the eating of the food Their 
Majesties Reopened their court and called Lady Vigdis before them where she 
was awarded a Golden Maple Leaf, one that they had been trying to get to her 
for awhile. That eve more fighters took to the field along with some brand 
new fighters whose first time in armor was fun to watch. His Grace Duke 
Alan, Lord Kharl and Keith? also took the field and much fighting was done. 
The rest of the night was spent in song and friendship.
     Sunday was a day of packing a farewells. Much fun was had by all and it 
was a great event.
     Oh I would not leave you without the results of the polling! Their 
Excellencies will sit the thrones of the Barony of Sentinels' Keep for 
another 2 years, VIVAT!!! As if there was any doubt...
      As for melees and Blood of Hereos, to few fighters showed up for those 
to happen:-(
