Field of the Cloth of Gold Shire of Silver Keep FOTCOG - Resurrection II

Long ago, (1520) in a land far away (France) the King of France (Francis 
I) and the King of England (Henry VIII) met on the Field of the Cloth of 
Gold. Each king tried to outshine the other, with dazzling tents and 
clothes, huge feasts, music, jousting, and games. The days were taken up 
with tournaments, in which both kings took part, but not against each 
other. Long ago, (1989) in a land not so far away (Bozeman, MT) the 
first of our modern day FOTCOG’s was held by
the Shire of Silver Keep.

The populace of the Knowne World is invited to attend the Field of the 
Cloth of Gold: Resurrection II. There will be fighting for both heavy 
and rapier fighters. A Pas d’Armes will be held during the day with a 
Great Sword Torch Light Tourney to end the day. There will be activities 
for children and a Heralds Point throughout the weekend. In the tradition of
dazzle carried on from the original FOTCOG, there will be A&S 
competitions on the finest garb and the finest display of personal 
Heraldry so bring your dazzling clothes and your banners! A schedule of 
A&S classes are as follows:

10am - HE Mistress Shauna - Titles and Regalia (SCA 120)

11am - Mistress Mirr - Garbing for Beginners

12pm - HL Terrell - Drumming

1pm - HE Mistress Shauna - Heraldic Display

2pm - Lord Rikker - Circle Cloak

Merchants are welcome. (no fee – donation for the auction please!) A 
fundraising auction will be held Saturday evening. There will be a soup 
kitchen available on Friday night for a nominal fee.

Site: opens Friday at 2:00 P.M. and closes Sunday at 5:00 P.M. The site 
is wet period containers please. No pets allowed. There is potable water 
available. Fires in above ground pits only – depending on fire 
restrictions. Site is 10 minutes from Bozeman and last minute shopping.

Site fees: Adults: $12.00 Children ages 5 to 15: $6.00, under 5 are 
guests of the Shire.
Day fee: $5.00 $3.00 surcharge for non-members Please make checks 
payable to: Shire of Silver Keep, SCA, Inc.

Site directions: Rocky Creek Farm There will be signs. Take your best 
route to Bozeman, MT and connect with 1-90.

 From the West: Exit I-90 at exit #313 (Bear Canyon Road). Turn left at 
the stop sign off the exit. Turn left again at the next stop sign (this 
is Frontage Road). Travel .8 miles and turn right at Rocky Creek Farm. 
Follow signs to the event area.

 From the East: Exit I-90 at exit #313 (Bear Canyon Road). Turn right at 
the stop sign off the exit.
Immediately turn left at the next stop sign (this is Frontage Road). 
Travel .8 miles and turn right at Rocky Creek Farm. Follow signs to the 
event area.
