[Artemisia] Reading

I've read quite a lot of Orson Scott Card and enjoyed it. I thought  
Speaker for the Dead was a particularly good book. But I really hated  
the first book in the Alvin Maker series and didn't read anymore  
after. In fact, one of the only scifi/fantasy books I can remember  
hating more was the first book in the Gap series by Stephen R.  
Donaldson.
