Wait a second... the War of the Two Greedy Barons was fought far to the north of Arrows' Flight, so how did the village get "burned out", and who did it? What, the celebration of the Pictsie Horde's near-flawless victory turned into a riot? Why didn't I get the messenger pigeon inviting me to the party? You know I love burning a village as much as the next Cymraeg (I'd just pretend it was an English village)!

Subject: [Artemisia] The Saga Continues...Arrows' Flight Insurrection!

Willem tightened the last ropes on the wagon, while fending off the waster thrusts aimed at his back by little John, Kate’s youngest bairn. Ever since Kate had lost her man in the conflict between the two greedy barons, John had sort of adopted Willem. Not that he minded, actually. Kate would be looking for a new man, especially now, and she was a fine figure of a woman, even after birthing three.
“Come, John, now you let Willem be!”
Willem turned toward the house, or what was left of it, anyway, and caught her smile as John went running to his mother.
“Is that everything,” he asked?
At her nod, he scooped up the squealing John, put him on the wagon, and helped her up, as well.
“I can drive, if ye like,” Willem suggested.
She shook her head no, and replied,
“Ye’ll have enough t’do without us too. Thanks for your help.”
He watched as she clucked to the mule, and headed off to join the other wagons. Then he jumped up on his old horse, and followed after. The whole village was leaving. After being burned out, the elders had met, and decided that a move west would be good. The fact that they were going to settle on lands that belonged to one of the barons made folk a bit nervous, but Willem thought it fitting. There would probably be fighting, but there were others who would help, if it came to that. Catching the hint of a smile from Kate, who had just glanced back, Willem kicked his heels a little harder, and sped up along side the wagon. The trip promised to be interesting...
