I did not mean that were we to disagree about this thing, I would  
never want to speak to you again. I meant simply that, if we were  
both unwilling to consider one another's point of view our  
disagreement would be too profound, and it might not be worth my time  
(or yours) to speak with you in this one matter. This also does not  
mean I would be offended.

Of course, I don't flatter myself that conversing with me is  
essential to anyone's happiness; however, while reading your  
response, it occurred to me that my tone was probably much harsher  
than intended in that statement and so I wanted to clarify.
