I recommend contacting Signoria Xeno della Lama at oldxeno at yahoo.com. He is
the Guildmaster for our local nautical guild and he has many great and
sundry books upon what was on ships in period. If he doesn't have it, he
might be able to point you at someone who does, or help you research it.

You might also try looking into the seamanship books of the time/region.
Shipboard items tended to be small and stowable.
