Cousins,

It is with great delight my idea has been so well received, obviously there
are some details that need to be worked out, but nothing we can't overcome.

I used the word "chapel" only because I couldn't think of anything else to
call it. I don't even know if "chapel" or "sanctuary" by definition can be
used in a secular context, which was my intention of the structure. Those
standing vigil can decorate the space however they see fit.

Perhaps we could use something like "Hall of Honor" as a working reference.

I certainly had no intention of excluding non peers from the structure, my
idea of putting the peer names in the vigil area inside was to inspire those
sitting vigil. I am heartened to learn this is not necessary.

The problem of multiple vigils occurred to me too, the heart shaped
structure mentioned earlier would go a long way to solving that. One idea of mine I
rejected was a circular structure divided in three parts with no outer walls,
but this would look too modern, like a rest stop picnic pavilion.

I like the idea of a six sided structure as well.

Could we/should we make this a period construction project, using only
period materials and tools?

How big should it be?

Obviously, we've just started discussing this, perhaps we can set some time
aside at Uprising to discuss this as a group and people (everyone) could bring
ideas, maybe even sketches or photos of details they would like to see
incorporated into the structure. Nothing at this point is set in stone, (pardon
the pun), and anything is possible.

I never would have thought of memorial books, a beautiful tribute, portable
as well.

Do good work
HL Dederick
