Greetings, Excellencies all, from Padruig, in the velvety verdant vale of Arrows' Flight.

Esteemed Morgan, I also have been told I am argumentative, by people who misunderstand me. In my case, it's usually because I am right, and the people with which I am having the discussion just can't get it.?? ;-)??? Just ask Finlay. He knows...

Feel free to be argumentative with me at any time. I relish the challenge of having to stretch my mind around thoughts that differ from my own.

In mundane life, I have discovered though, that there are those who do not?relish that same challenge. Whether this is because of closed minds, or small minds, I have yet to discover. 's probably both. My experience with SCA folk, as short as it has been, is that it is neither. I think many people have just lost the ability to discuss, debate, compare, or whatever verb you wish to use, viewpoints. We have been brainwashed to call it arguing, and we say it like it's a bad thing.? It's not.

Yelling at someone during a discussion, or raising the voice and verbally trying to sonically drill a viewpoint into a thick skull, is never appropriate (unless a persona is from switzerland, and having a discussion with someone on the neighboring peak).

Not possible to do that by e-mail. You simply don't have to read someone's remarks. Impossible to take offense.

So, you all have my permission to be as argumentative as you wish. Have fun. Not that you need my permission... Or want it... Or even care that I have given it...
