Subject: [Artemisia] What 'cha Reading?

Hi Everybody,

Been pretty slow here, probably most folks getting ready for Estrella.  I sure have been!

So, here's another topic, what book(s) are your reading?  Or just finished, or planning to read?

I'm in the middle of Edward, Prince of Wales and Aquitaine, by Richard Barber.  It's been a really good book, and approaches the Black Prince's life via his accounts, spending, buying, etc.  A unique approach that gives a pretty good view of him.

Before this, I was reading A World Lit Only By Fire, by William Manchester.  Actually, I wasn't too impressed by it, and didn't feel the need to complete it.  He subscribes to the "everyone was dirty, and couldn't find their way back home if they left", etc.  He also skips around on periods, and makes many of the standard mistakes/myths that others have.  For such a noted author, I was surprised.

Next I'll be reading The Devil's Brood, by Sharon Kay Penman.  I really like her stuff, and am looking forward to this one.

Let's hear what you're reading,

Alan
