Greetings Gentle Cousins.

There will be an Iron Chef Competition at Uprising again this year.

	* The format is similar to years past.
	* Maximum of 4 teams may compete.
	* Teams may consist of up to 5 people.
	* Team captains will meet to determine the order and time to pick up the box of unidentified eatables, and confirm the team members.
	* Teams must identify each ingredient in their box o' food.
	* Teams will have 6 hours to prepare the food in the camp kitchen of their choice, without the benefit of electricity.
Preregistration is required by June 1st. First come, first serve.  A $10 fee per team will ensure your spot in the competition.  Upon registration, your team captain will be given a list of ingredients that the team may have in their kitchen and use for the feast, and a copy of the judging sheet.

The teams will serve their dishes at a designated tent, to the judges and "paying audience", saving a plate for each of the competing teams to taste.

Judges will taste the food and judge based upon many factors listed in the judging sheet.

Twenty tickets for tasting the results of the competition will be available on a first come, first served basis. The tickets will be $10 and are well worth the cost.  Feasters need to supply their own eating plates, bowls, cups and utensils.

Please contact Dame Hilde to register or with any questions, at wilhemina3 at yahoo.com

The scenario:
The lord of the manor is recently returned from Augsberg, where he became enamoured with Sabina, a young relative of the very powerful Welser family.  He lost his heart, but Sabina was already married to one of his business colleagues.

As his cooking staff, you attempt to raise his spirits. What better use could there be for comfort food?  For days you slave over pottages and roasts that previously brought him great joy.  More often than not, food is left uneaten as he gazes forlornly out the window.

Timidly, you ask if the elaborate kitchen conjurations have somehow displeased your lord. He replies "It is not the quality of the food that has changed, but the quality of my heart. I miss the company of my recent journey."

You ask if there is anything that you may do to lift his spirits. A special dish that he had on is travels that you may attempt to replicate?

He sighs and closes his eyes for a moment.

With a sudden burst of excitement, he jumps from his chair and rummages in a chest. He produces a small book. He excitedly tells you that it was written by a beautiful young woman who employed the most amazing cook. It is a collection of his love's recipes.

Could you make some of the dishes? Spare no expense! If he could have just a few morsels of nourishment prepared as Sabina would have prepared them, he could go on with his meager existence.

Are you up to the challenge?

Following is a link to a copy of Sabina Welserin's Cookbook as translated by Valoise Armstrong. A special prize will be awarded to the team that prepares the best rendition of a recipe from this book. Team captains will be informed of the specific recipe upon reciept of their ingredients.
