There are family, associate and sustaining memberships. Sustaining
memberships come with one copy of the Kingdom newsletter. Associate
memberships are available to anyone but they do not come with a newsletter.
Family memberships are additional memberships for family members (actual
relatives, not unrelated roommates) living at the same address. There must
be one sustaining member in a family. The family members do not receive
additional copies of the Kingdom newsletter.

Corpora indicates that to be an officer (and this also applies to Royalty),
you must have immediate access to the corporate newsletter for their area
received at their residence.(Provisions are made for those with post office
boxes).

As long as someone that lives at your address receives a hard copy of the
newsletter, you are covered under that requirement. An associate membership
does allow you some of the benefits membership, but you cannot be an officer
unless you can demonstrate that you have immediate access to the corporate
newsletter (i.e. it comes to someone else at the same address). The
associate membership can be a good arrangement for those who have long term
roommate situations but are not related.

Again, if you have comments, please send your counsel to the comments at sca,org
address (as well as posting them here if you wish). Otherwise the people
that make the decisions won't know how you feel. I believe that there will
be much discussion at all levels regarding this decision, One of the
things I know is being discussed is changing the print newsletter
requirement that is written into corpora so that electronic publications are
also permitted. This would be an option that would allow the membership
cost to be reduced for those who don't want paper newsletters. But that is
all in discussion phase. Please email your opinions so you can be heard.
