[Artemisia] oatcakes

I have several recipes for different types of oat cakes. Can you describe them a little?  Sweet? Savory?  Like pancakes? Like cookies?

Many many moons ago, in the Principality of Artemisia, I attended a feast in the Frozen North that included oatcakes in heavy cream.  Does anyone out there have the recipe for those delicious little cakes?
