[Artemisia] Rope farthingale

I just made my first rope corset. I saw a rope farthingale in one of my 
costuming books but I had doubts it would hold my skirts off my legs well. 
How does it hold up? I'm making my hoops now and if the rope hoop is a 
smarter bet, I'll make if of rope instead.

My corset is made of 120 feet of 1/8 inch cotton cord. Do I need something 
else for the rope farthingale?
