For some reason, this didn't get printed in the Sage. So, sorry for
the late notice (and lack of formating here), but here is the event
announcement for Farewell to Arms...

HL Conchobar

Farewell to Arms
January 16, 2010

The cold winds and foul weather of the Artemisian winter have
descended upon the fair lands of One Thousand Eyes. As members of the
Gryphon Host from the Peacock Lands prepare to travel south to warm
their bodies and blood with sun and WAR! the Barony gathers to bid
them Farewell.

It is also time for Don Conchobhar to bid Farewell to his latest
tenure as Captain of the Baroness’ Musketeers, and to his first tenure
as the Baron’s Champion of Arts and Sciences. As the Honorable
Conchobhar would feel remiss if the Barony were left without those
championships being filled, he will be sponsoring two tournaments that
day.

The tournament to determine a new champion with rapier will have a
format to be determined based on how many fighters participate. It is
rumored that Don Conchobhar was heard to mutter “I should just keep
the title, it’s not like anyone in Artemisia can beat me anyway,”
which sounds amazingly like “every rapier fighter in the Kingdom
should attend and prove him wrong.”

An Arts and Sciences competition will also be held throughout the day
to determine a new Baron’s Champion. All entries are welcome, and
will be judged and given feedback, however, to compete for the
position of Champion, entrants must have a minimum of 3 entries in at
least 2 grand categories.

Rumor also has it that Conchobhar doesn’t want the armored fighters to
feel left out, and thus may plan something for them as well.

Feast will once again be potluck, with Roast Beef and Turkey provided
by the Barony. Bring a dish to share, no reservation needed, no cap.
