Gentles,

Having assumed the role of Kingdom Chatelaine recently I thought I would
poll the Aerie(I apologize if that sounds painful) concerning how y'all as
SCAdians share the SCA with people. I'm also curious how the SCA was shared
with you. So to lead by example.

I share the SCA in my community by periodically preforming Demonstrations
for local Schools, 4H clubs, and the library. I also visit my community
radio station from time to time to talk about history and the middle ages
and reenactment. I also have worked to share any events that are going on in
the area with people so they know what's happening in the SCA. Sometime it
has worked sometime it hasn't. Most of these seem a pretty standard
approach.

I came to the SCA through another reenactment group which was going to
Estrella and I absolutely fell in love with the Pagentry, Spectacle and fun
that SCAdians were having. I would thank my friends in that group who were
willing to let me tag along and who also put up with my exuberant purchases
on merchant row that year. Back to topic I came to love the SCA and the
concept of the Dream, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea to describe
the SCA but it works for me.

The SCA is a lot of things to a lot of people but we make it work somehow.
Please share how you've come to the SCA and how you've shared.

Lord Ramon d'Javier Chatelaine d'Artemisia
