Barons War 2011
Battle of Bounty

Barony of Loch Salann & Barony of Gryphons Lair
July 22-25, 2011
Stoddard UT

The fields and flocks have flourished under the everlasting friendship that has been forged between the Baronies. But alas with this abundance a new conflict has bloomed.

The bounty lasted even though the long winter and as the fields and flocks sprang forth with promises of continued bounty, something new was growing too - Rumors, horrible rumors, slanderous words concerning the quality of the cooks with in the Baronies.
The Barons heard words concerning the quality of their cooks or to be precise the lacking quality of their cooks. Each Baron denies any negative statements but yet maintains they have the best cooks.
Thus WAR has been declared.

Come join as the Baronies gather in grand tournament style to demonstrate their Quality and Prowess.
Fighting, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Youth activities, COOKING and more
Cooks come show your quality!! Everyone come show your quality and prowess too.

Friday Evening: War Counsel (Identifying of Allies, purchase of Mercenaries/Warbands/Cooks)
I have heard that the Barons are filling their coffers with an old form of “coin” of the realm with which to pay their troupes.

There will be scenarios in the woods for armored fighters, duelists and archers along with a Pas d'Armes on Sunday. The combined Archery/Thrown weapons tournament on Sunday is sure to be a favorite.

Cooks sharpen your knifes, stock the fires, and polish the silver.
The Combat scenario for the Cooks to show their wondrous qualities and delight our senses will be
“A simple meal from Field and Flock” cooking competition.
Cooks will prepare a simple meal of 2-3 dishes, from the fields and flocks of the Baronies.
Minimal documentation, what it is, when, where, why, how it fits the theme with points for presentation. Individual cooks and/or mini teams of two, meals to be what ever you like and prepared when/where/how you decide. Just use what you think fits the Fields/Flocks theme.
Presentation and judging will be Saturday July 23rd, 2pm.
The populace will have an opportunity to vote for their favorites also.
Plan on about 8 regular servings – to give ample tasting size servings
The Fine Print as declared by Baron Ryryd: Each entrant/team MUST declare for an alliance (BLS or BGL). No one is allowed to enter as a neutral party.
If an entrant lives in one of the Baronies, that entrant MUST declare for the Barony they live in.
Mercenary Cooks will have the opportunity to have their “services” bought at War Council, Friday evening along with all the other mercenary troops.

TRH are sponsoring a torchlight tournament as a fundraiser for the Kingdom travel fund.
The fundraiser will be a fighter auction with the prize of a handmade and finished bench going to the "Patron" and the winning fighter taking home the bragging rights.
So bring your purses and buy a fighter for the glory and benefit of the Kingdom of Artemisia.
