[Artemisia] Question for Kurtis/William (was Yay for Good TV! :D)

I realize that this issue has the potential to be a little testy; but
I'd like to stay with it because it goes to the heart of what we do as a
Society. Our roots as an organization are in the idealized form of
medieval tournaments. The SCA has it's own way of re-creating that
aesthetic, as do other groups out there. I'm fascinated with seeing how
other organizations approach this issue.

Having said this; I have a question for you Kurtis/William:

Do you see the jousting that your group is doing as an evolving sport?
If it is evolving, do have any ideas for what direction that evolution
might take?
The specific thing that I'm after with this question is the training of
new riders. I noticed that one of the rookie jousters was struggling
with basic riding skills. I thought that it was a great decision on the
part of the film makers and the Knights of Mayhem to show the learning
process. For as long as humans have used cavalry, we've also had to
train riders. Training riders has always been a big deal. Do you see any
possibilty that the approach to the training of new jousters will evolve
as time goes in this sport?

Thanks,
Tamar

I am putting everything I have into this show to make it work and I think its rather rude when people I consider my friends to get on here and bad mouth the work I do. I dont get on here saying how much I dont like your boss, or the clothes you wear to work look terrible. so why would you do the same thing to me. honestly if you dont like it then at least have the guts to say it to my face for a private conversation.

For those who love and adore our dear William the Dragonhearted, he will be featured (somewhere, at some time or another) in this show, since he's one of the main blacksmiths. I'm so proud of how far he's come, how well he's done for himself, and how far his talents have been stretched from the very little he was given to start with, to being a premier armour maker for the world of jousting today. Go little bro! :D
