[Artemisia] straining rattan, was Re: Fwd: New changes/rules approved

After re-reading the original statement by Bart, I'm actually left
wondering: how do you train rattan?

Personally I've tried positive reinforcement, but the rattan still isn't
listening to me... Do I need to switch to negative reinforment and be more
stern with it and maybe occasionaly beat it?

Regards,

Herr Tilke von Lehe (still alive despite all of the non-existing rumors)

P.S.: I could see why Thorvald would be confused by strain vs stain - he is
a norseman (and a pointy hat to boot) =)

Well, if you have a spear that is plain bamboo that you wish to use in SCA
attles, you should throw it away and get a rattan spear, or fiberglass.
training the rattan is a great idea, though.
