Greetings unto Artemisia,

Good Gentles.

Harvest War!!! is fast approaching. Updates on weather in long range forcast as to the 10th Sept for Mantua is mid 80's during the day to low 50's during the night. So if it holds out we will have a very pleasant War!!. I would still suggest that you prepare for anything and everything because it is still Harvest War.

The Marshals are telling me they have wonderful scenario's. Archery and Thrown Weapons will be held on saturday.

Those that may have a weed wacker gas one of course it may need to be used on the upper field to help clear some ground for those events.

A gentle reminder, if you are members please do not forget your cards, if you do not have proof we do have to charge you Non Members Fees. Fighters please have your authorization cards with membership also. If you don't have proof, you can get a copy off of the SCA.org site electronically, or have it to show at Troll on your phones.

To help with parking this year, we are asking that when you arrive on site that you have 2 hrs to unpack and be able to get your vehicle to the upper parking area. Remember there will be grass and we are trying to avoid the long grass. We are trying to have enough parking for those that have handicap parking or who have issues of getting around site.

Sir Bartholomew Hightower and Baron Aggie and Baroness Flora will be having their Tavern on Friday night starting at 7pm, so if you are there please support them and the entertainment. If you wish to perform contact them.

Remember high fire restrictions and we are asking that you provide your campsite with a n extiquisher especially those that will have kitchens. The only fires allowed out of the designated areas are propane. If you have anything other than that for lighting, we ask that you put them out when you are not in camp, and they are contained in a lantern.

Remember there is also a noise audinance for Mantua after 10pm. If you are in the lower areas's like A or B those restrictions will be enforced. If you are on the lower field and camp D we just ask you be mindful of everyone else around you.

I believe there will be a Hafla on the Upper Field on saturday night. I do not have details.

Volunteers for Troll, helping all the Marshals with lists is always welcome.

Note that we will not have security as we have in the past, we will be asking those that have camps that you have someone keep an eye on everything. That means making sure things are cleaned up around the area.

I can't say this enough, children need to be attended. There is a creek I haven't heard if it is flowing, but there is usually some water in it. Rocks are slippery, there are over hanging trees, we just ask you to not allow your children not be unsupervised in these areas. There will only be one warning. Also and I know we all know this but a reminder, that leaving  your children without supervision in camp at night will not be tolerated. Restrictions on those under 17 not escorted at night will be 11pm curfew.

Please know our campsite is big and even though in the confines of a camp ground it also is public access and there are homes close by. People drive through the area. Please keep your speed limit down.

There will be many activities during the day. Lady Zoya (winterfirewolf at gmail.com) is our MoAS and is looking for teachers she has a few but could use a few more. Classes will be from 10am to 4pm on saturday, in the Grotto area (camp C). If the weather is bad it will be in the Shire pavilion which will be in camp area B in Merchant Row.

Bardic on saturday night starting after court at the firepit on Merchant Row. It will be open performance just turn up and see m'Lord Scealai.

There are still spots for Merchants, if you know someone please contact Lady Hallerna (sfcrell at yahoo.com).

Hope to see you and your friends at our little event.
