ANNOUNCING




The Mistress Constance de la Rose Medieval Iron Chef
Cooking Competition at Uprising XXVIII




The purpose of this Competition is to promote interest in foods and cookery of the "period" prior to 1600 AD; to promote period cooking within Artemisia through a fun and friendly competition.




This years competition will be based on
An Anonymous Andalusian Cookbook from the 13th Century
Translated by Charles Perry




Be a part of the Populace Tasting Committee!  Taste and vote on your favorites.
The Tasting Committee gets to taste everything and vote for their favorite to be name the Populace choice, which will be announced in court and a prize awarded. Seats for the tasting Committee will be available on a first come, first served basis from the Competition Coordinator; Meistres Gwynnyth. The tickets will be $10 and are well worth the cost. Committee members need to supply their own feast gear.


2014 Constance de la Rose Medieval Iron Chef Competition Rules
Complete rules and details to be in the Sage Advice
•	Competition shall be between teams of 2-6 people. ALL team members will be able to contribute in any way the team sees fit. There is no scullery only requirement this year.
•	There will be a Maximum of Four (4) teams.
•	All teams must pre-register with the Iron Chef Steward, Meistres Gwynnyth prior to May 15, 2014 and pay a $20 entry fee.
•	The competition will be held on Thursday, at Uprising 28.
•	Teams will prepare a medieval feast sufficient to provide adequate tasting portions for about 15 people based upon An Anonymous Andalusian Cookbook from the 13th Century, translated by Charles Perry. The version online free, linked here
