[Artemisia] Kingdom Calendar Change Proposal from the Kingdom Seneschal Office

Greetings Cousins,
Having answered the Survey, I wish to share my thoughts on this matter. Please realize that these opinions are my own, and do not reflect upon those I serve, nor upon those I am personally close to; if you take exception to these opinions, please keep your disagreement civil and direct it at me.Regarding the Kingdom Calendar Change Proposal, I feel we should keep our Calendar as it is.  The weather issues noted as a reason to change will STILL be an issue for Kingdom events, no matter what weekends they are on, because we live where we do. The fact is, we changed our Calendar in the past for these same reasons, and here we are again, trying to schedule against the most inconsistent facet of Artemisian life, the weather. This is also part of why we changed from a 3-month Heirdom [I may have created a new word there] to 5 months, to allow more time to plan Coronations and have more People that can hold Court and give Awards, so we don't have to have 15 AoAs in one Court, for example.The only change I would suggest is that entrants in Crown Tourney, as part of their Sword Oath, must have their potential Coronation's Event Steward chosen, and basic plans made for the chance that they should be victorious. In fact, I consider this to be part of the "prepared to bear the Responsibility of the Crown" part of the current Oath, but apparently I am rare in that opinion, so it should be clearly stated as an expectation of the Entrants beforehand. I believe 5 months is plenty of time to locate and contract a suitable site for Coronation, no matter where in our Kingdom the Heirs live.
