[Artemisia] Kingdom Calendar Change Proposal

I'm an option 2 person, but I agree. A three day weekend only works if event planners would USE two or preferably all three days for event stuff....otherwise it doesn't matter what weekend things are on. Everything is crammed into one day now, and in reality not all of the day is even used. Moving things around will break up the log jam of events, but we as a kingdom also need to make an effort to start earlier and ON TIME. Otherwise we're wasting the time we do have. Other Kingdoms do it and are doing great, even thriving it's all about advertising, making the time and taking responsibility for the things individuals want to participate in.

For example: We're going to Avacal's Crown in a couple weeks. The event schedule is already published, two weeks before the event. It's a regular weekend. I encourage everyone to check out the schedule as an example of "getting the information out" and making every minute of event time count.

We also support the second option for the same reasons but with a modification. Move any event off of Labor Day up a week to the last weekend of August. Having a one day event on the last three day weekend of our already too short summer is not a good choice. It will reduce attendance. Planning any event on the Labor Day weekend makes finding venues more difficult and motels rooms as well. There is no event the last weekend of August so there is no interference.

March is as problematic as January as far as travel and having July Coronations again would be just too sweet. Spreading the dates out and reducing the fishbowl time for the Heirs will (hopefully) encourage more people to both fight in Crown AND attend Kingdom events - thereby adding to the Kingdom coffers.

We have fantastic event coordinators in every group - which means it isn't a big deal to have the ceremony elsewhere. And if you don't want to be Crowned in , the short answer is don't fight in that tourney. In my mind, a simple solution.
