Ahhh, Yes. And Atlantia got heavy hitting from the East too and vastly
enlarged upon it. Anyone here not wearing 12 or 14 gauge wrapped
around what is left of their brains is likely the canton idiot. For us it began
prevailing in Storvik [Washington] and the Tidewater baronies and spread south.
My wife is still chuckling over a pair of T-Shirts for father and tiny son she
saw after a recent event.
"Just another Atlantian Thug" and "Future Atlantian Thug". :)

One place where some British and SCA reenactors diverge is they believe in
squashable [their term] helmets to take the shock off their necks. Now the
strange thing is they have apparently reverted back to a more aggressive attitude
on fighting [with open helmets no less]. My membership of four years
in Regia-NA will expire this October. I have a number of friends in Regia I like
very much with whom I correspond. The Vikings-NA took off when a more open
attitude to potential members prevailed. More members in a quarter of the time in
the USA. That is exactly the opposite of what English Regia thought should succeed.
For the most part though it was not the English folks who fostered that
attitude.
I am a bit crippled to go chasing all over the country so thus far have not
joined V-NA.
With some new medicine, thank heavens, I feel like I got an extension though.
Took me four years to find some really good spine and pain clinic doctors.

If Atlantians [and their progenitors in the East] fought with the same force
with such helmets and dulled steel weapons] it would be lethal. The weight
of their helmets absorbs much of the shock instead. 25 years ago a 'killing shot'
in Atlantia could split a motorcycle helmet. Don't know what they are made of
now. I remember during Women's Prison riot here in 1975 a half a concrete block
to a riot helmet split it. That guy was on my shift at Central Prison. It's not
like
he could have lost any brains anyway. I imagine some Atlantians would just
shake that off.
Probably just yell "Light!".

In around 11 years that is the first time I have heard an explanation for that
term.
[Silly I know, I never thought to ask.] That sounds like something Yang would
have invented. We were invited to join sometime around 1995 but still stood
watch like everyone else.

Thanks, Yosef.
