Not me. You are thinking of Geirr Bassi Haraldson, author of Old Norse
Names. I found my name in his book when I went through Heralds Point
back at Pennsic I don't recall which (21-23). I was getting back into
things heavily, leaving my old persona behind and decided this time I
was doing Norse stuff. I had decided on Harold the Large verging on
Harold Storten (Swedish for large) and when I found the proper spelling
for the period I wanted was Haraldr that was an easy shift. I was torn
between The Large and The Bear and when I found that Bassi was old Norse
nickname for Large Bear Like Person I was hooked and have used it ever
since. Someday I'll flesh him out a bit further and have a fathers name
to tack on.

Haven't missed teaching at a Pennsic in years. But I teach woodworking
stuff... wish I could find Geir Bassi myself as I'd like to thank him
for the book.

Thanks for the info below...
