If you get the Science Channel there is a series 
of good programs that will
repeat tonite at 11pm.  They are on now.  The 
first one is on the Romans
and has Xantan Roman Park in it.  One of the 
impressive parts at the front
is the firing of a long range ballista at the 
start, followed by baths and warehouses.
Glassblowing, multiple mills on hill, etc.
