[SCA-AS] books and where to put them

Have you tried using Library Thing to catalog your
books? Your wife might have ideas about such a service
(my boss, a real librarian, laughed) but I'm finding
it very useful.

The first 200 books are free but I paid to be a
lifetime member and I also bought a Cuecat scanner.
Any book with a barcode I just scan and I don't have
to worry about typing in anything. It pulls
information from Amazon or Library of Congress (and
many other libraries). If you already have a catalog
of sorts you can usually import that too.

I was worried about putting my catalog online but
since my real name isn't attached I don't think
there's reason to be paranoid. When I'm done I won't
have to worry about buying duplicates because I'll
know what I have. I'm amazed at what I had forgotten I
owned. Also, no more of "I'm at work. I'll email the
cite when I get home." and then forgetting.

Just a satisfied customer,
Slaine
