[SCA-AS] Venetian Unmentionables

I have been looking for information about stockings worn in Venice in the
late 16th century – more to the point – technique, style materials...  The
Vikings have Naalbinding – what did the Venetians have?  I’m a knitter and
lucet weaver among other past-times of the fabric persuasion.  I would like
to make some “proper stockings”, as well as other under garments.  Any
suggestions where I might start to look?
