[Blgspops] Warm-up for the fall season

Greetings!

SO, let's get started!

First, could people please let me know if they are planning on returning 
this fall. Our current schedule is as follows:

August 28 (Thursday) potluck dinner at John Baber's. This is our annual 
get-together/meeting/social catch-up tome. We will need to 
elect/re-elect officers and board members.

September 4 will be the start of our regular rehearsals at the church. 7 
pm start time, doors will be open by 6:30 pm.

October 30 (Thursday) Fall concert. Venue not determined yet.

Second, the Music Committee met this week, and we have lots of new and 
different pieces to work on, both already ordered and a few more that 
John will be getting. Handing out new music at the potluck might happen, 
but we will definitely have new stuff for start of rehearsals.

Third, we really need to do a serious PR push the last part of August to 
try and get new members for September. I'd appreciate greatly if anyone 
wants to volunteer to help with getting the word out to all the local 
media outlets (TV, radio, print). We'll have a new write-up for that 
available shortly.

Fourth, don't forget word of mouth! Let people know we are interested in 
all skill levels and ages and instruments!
