<html><body style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12px;"><br /><br />Greetings everyone!<br /><br />I just want to say that we sounded pretty good last Friday night - and I heard a LOT of compliments on how everyone sounded. Well Done!<br /><br />Also, we got a donation from the Sons of Norway on Friday for our scholarship fund. They passed the hat, so to speak, and we got $131 in cash. I did a quick count of it at the building and thought it was $133, but some of the one dollar bills were sticking together and a more careful count at home later gave us the revised total. I'll have that for our treasurer on Thursday.<div><br /></div><div>We got a sixth application in the mail on Saturday. It was postmarked the 10th (Friday) and is a well-written one, so I think we should consider it along with the other five. The gal who sent it in is the first chair clarinet in the Senior High music program. Her essay is well written and very legible and her teacher's recommendation is very good as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Everyone who is interested in reading this application along with the other ones we already have can do so Thursday. Once you have read all of the applications, I'll ask you to initial which one or ones you choose. Majority vote will prevail.</div><div><br /></div><div>We only played for about 35 minutes on Friday, which was about 3/4 of our total concert music that we have been rehearsing. I've asked John to see if there is some other piece or pieces of music we have in our library we could add in the next two weeks to pad our time a bit. If not, we'll have a pretty short concert - an hour or less, depending on how much John talks :-). Look for a message about any music to bring this week.
