SO, for those who made it out , we went through both Carnival of
the Animals and Pictures at an Exhibition. Julie M played the
pieces on her phone, mic'd through a speaker John brought, so we
could HEAR (mostly, darn feedback anyway!) what each section
sounded like before trying them out. We all agreed that they were
all doable, and worked on the trickier parts.

We identified a couple of places where the parts that Julie M has
so graciously (and wonderfully!) worked up for the non-string
players were glitched, and she has fixed those already! Thank you
again, your hard work will make this a great show for the 3 and 4
year olds at Head Start, and something we can put in our library
for future performances, too!

However, we also all agreed that the two pieces are not enough,
time-wise, for a decent performance for the kids.

SO, Best of Bach, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Radetsky March and
Thunder and Lightning Polka were all suggested as pieces to add to
the play list for Jan 24th. John will be bringing those with him
next week.

I was told that many of the people who were at rehearsal last
night won't be at rehearsal next week, for many reasons, but they
will all be at the concert (and most of them at the Jan 17th
rehearsal as well). For those who had to miss last night, PLEASE
come the next two weeks so we can ALL work on these pieces! They
are not nearly as hard as they look, once you hear them and play
through them as a group.

Julie M has also sent me a couple of links for the audio if
anyone wants to listen and 'play along' at home.

Here's the one for the Carnival of the Animals:
