Forwarded with permission..

I saw this on another list and thought it might be of interest here.
(Coincidentally, the Leffingwell House Museum is just 5 minutes from where
we live...)

I received the following e-mail at work from a member of the Leffingwell
House Museum (a nice historic Colonial tavern and residence of a prominent
Norwich family). The museum wants to put together a craft day April 21 and
is looking for a bookbinding teacher and someone to teach tattering and
other skills.

I offered to post it to our List and she was delighted, so here goes:

Good morning!
I am hoping you might share some information with me. I am in the process of
putting together a "Craft Intensive Day" for the Leffingwell House Museum
and I am looking for a bookbinding and book repair teacher and a chair
caning teacher. Do you happen to know of someone ?
Then I have a person willing to teach "tattering" but I am not able to find
a clear and concise definition and was wondering if you had one of those or
could steer me in the right direction of one. I know that its an old art
form and according to my teacher, its the art of weaving a handmade design
into lace or cotton thread fabric. Examples are the popular lace curtains
with cats, teapots, lighthouses and such woven into them as a repeated
design.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Feel free to contact her directly, but if you'd rather respond to me and
have me get in touch with her, that's fine too.
