Subject: [Laurel] News from AEthelmearc!

Hello from Linette de Gallardon! It is my privilege and pleasure
to share some exciting news from AEthelmearc about a gentle lady
who resides in Owlsherst: at the AEthelmearc Kingdom Twelfth
Night held last weekend, the Honorable Lady Alienor Russeal was
given a Writ of Summons to appear before Their Majesties at a
future date in order to be inducted into their most noble Order
of the Laurel! Alienor's work in Book Arts, including
bookbinding, calligraphy and illumination, ink-making, and
exploring the recipes from "Books of Secrets" brought her to the
notice of the Order and Their Majesties, and deservedly so.
Their Majesties will induct her into the Order at the College of
Three Ravens in Thescorre (Rochester, NY) on February 24th.

Although Alienor is a resident of Owlsherst and the East Kingdom,
she became a citizen of AEthelmearc through special petition
several years ago, because of her household affiliation. She has
given generously of her time and energy in both Kingdoms,
teaching at Pennsic and locally in weekday workshops and at
events, and her research into the Books of Secrets has been truly
excellent. With her work split between two kingdoms, it is not
easy for either kingdom to judge an entire body of work, and I
think it's a glowing testament to Alienor that her work in only
*one* kingdom came so prominently to the notice of the Order and
the Crown. If you do not yet know this lady, I hope to be able
to introduce you at some point, and I do hope everyone will join
me in congratulating her on a well-deserved elevation!

Linette
