[Sca-librarians] miko question

 I got given a question on miko, that is, Japanese priestesses/shrine maidens. The trouble is, I can't find much more than a picture and a paragraph. I even did a subject search on OCLC and came up dry. An internet search got me proper name entries, and all kinds of anime websites. Any time period would be a help, including contemporary. It does have to be in English, though. Thanks in advance, Tuiren
