[Sca-librarians] Library of Congress Subject Heading Change

Hey all,

(tongue-in-cheek mode on)

Library of Congress has made a recent subject heading change:

PEASANTRY has now become PEASANTS

Figured those who hold lands would want to know (snicker). So it's
"The peasants are revolting!" instead of "The peasantry are
revolting!"

I'm still working on a way to change "Bayeaux Tapestry" to "Bayeaux
Embroidery" but that's gonna take a lot more work. Scholars in the
field have to start using the more accurate term in publications
before the authorized form of the heading changes. :-)
