[Artemisia] [Aerie] Identify those making a contribution

Dear Redhawk.
You speak the truth. The people who break their backs to get things done
do not consistently get the recognition they deserve. Unfortunately,
often the "powers that be" don't see who is making the contribution. Or,
we don't remember their name at the end of an event. Saying "the lady
with glasses and lovely long brown hair in the blue Italian Renaissance
gown" doesn't always help.

And . . . some of the most wonderful people making these contributions
like to hide their light under a bushel basket [Boooo!], making it even
more difficult for "the powers that be" to see them.

As Lady in Waiting for Queen Caryn, one of my jobs was to write down
names of people who gave a gift to the Crown at events. Her Majesty made
a very concerted effort to send a thank you note to each of these folks.
I should have done a better job with those who performed a service. And
if you performed a service, and did not get a note, it was possibly
because I wasn't looking in the right direction to see your service, or I
could not find out your name. I apologize. Even my training as a mother
didn't prepare me to see every service that helped during the reign.
And when things go right [due to your hard work] it's often more
difficult to see the service than when something goes awry!

So . . . since you, Redhawk, are in a position to see who is making these
contributions, a WRITTEN listing -- a note, and e-mail, or even just an
index card with their name- to the autocrat, the crown, a lady in
waiting, the baron & baroness i.e., "powers that be"- within a reasonable
time after the event - might aid them in knowing who to recognize. And,
if you tell those "powers that be" about all of the help, the "powers
that be" may speak to the people and find out you were working your butt
off too! Toot the horn for your team, for others, and not yourself.

So, help those "powers that be" to see who is working their buns off on
the rapier field when they are watching the hard suit fighting or at the
Arts & Sciences classes. They will probably check it out to see if you
are giving them correct information. And if you're exaggerating to get
your friend an award, they may figure that out. But, if your information
is accurate, those people will probably be recognized. And your
recognition may be sharing the joy of those you brought to the attention
of the "powers that be", or perhaps being recognized yourself.
