Actually you'd lose most of that bet.  The extra's that go into this
game we play comes primarily from fundraisers and inter-group
donations. Profit monies from Kingdom Level Events also pay for a good
portion of these kind of supplies. The only monies that come in to the
Kingdom from SCA memberships are for publications such as the Sage
Advice, plus one special Law Issue or A&S Issue (which alternate
generally).

Speaking as one who reigned for 3 years, you can only work with what
you are given.  If names and deeds aren't put forward for recognition
(awards, warm fuzzies, thank yous, etc.) it is NOT the fault of the
coronet or crown, or officer that it did not get done. We do our best
but, if we don't know, one cannot respond to a need. Losing memebrship
is a different issue and to get a true representation one needs to
talk to them directly not vicariously through others. 

On Recognition, it is everyone's responsibility to make sure good
efforts are not overlooked.  Coronet Level Positions are large jobs
with a goodly amount of work that the average player never sees or
hears about. They can't see, hear and be everywhere. If you really
want to see someone get recognition, write a letter, send an email,
talk to an officer, talk to the coronet (they may be busy but
generally don't bite!!).  

There is an addage in customer service: A person experiencing a good
deed will tell one person, while a person who has a bad experience
will tell 10 others. Which one is more likely reach the ones who can
make a difference?
