Hello and Good Morning!
As you may be well aware, the First Annual Gryphon's Prize Arts and
Sciences Competition will soon be upon us. May 01 only a scant 12 DAYS
away! Entrants are still welcome, and judges are still desperately
needed. This event is a great way to test your pieces for Kingdom
Competition and to learn how the whole system works.
Preregistration, although not required, is extremely helpful in the
planning process. Early registration means fewer lines and allows us to
have an early indication of where judges will be needed, and to find
them in advance.
I would like to stress again that one does NOT have to be a Laurel to
judge. One just needs to be competently knowlegeable in the subject
matter and willing to take the time to completely read the documentation
and make constructive, compassionate, and helpful commentary.
NOTE: There will be a judges meeting that all judges are reccommended to
attend prior to Gryphons' Prize (I think it is at 10am or there abouts).
The new scoring and guidelines will be addressed and specific
instructions will be given.
As of today, some of the major categories I have received entries in are:
Cooking
Brewing
Performing Arts
Costuming
Heraldic Display
Needlework
Writing
Manuscript Arts
Textile Arts
**Please note that these are just roughly grouped. Larger categories
will be broken up so that judges will not be saddled with a large number
of items to view. With enough volunteers I hope that the number will be
around 5 items. We will see...
Again, we will need judges available for all subjects as not all
entrants preregister for Gryphon's Prize. Please contact me DIRECTLY if
you wish to volunteer to judge. If at all possible I would like to have
volunteers' names in hand rather than twisting arms the day of the event.
Thank you all in advance. Every person who volunteers makes it that much
easier for everyone else. Please contact me if there are questions. I
look forward to seeing you all there.
HE Juliana
