Just a reminder that Arabian Nights is just a few days away! The site is
almost finished and so far we have built a complete city to fight in (shops,
bars, inns, wherehouses, back alleys all included), a bridge, a new
permanent tavern with solid ash bar, and a new main encampment area with a
larger stone fire pit. Also there is a change in the Housecarl
Tournament...it will start at 7:00pm instead of 4:00pm to allow for late
arrivals and for camp set up and for cooler temperatures. This is sure to be
an awesome event. Don't makethe mistake of not coming and missing out on
being a part of all the wonderful stories that are sure to be told
afterword.
Arabian Knights
August 13-14 (Friday and Saturday)
This is another theme event to follow the Pirate Party we held last year.
This is a non-sanctioned SCA event, but we will be playing SCA the whole
time. We realize that we accidentally scheduled this event the same weekend
as the Camp-Make-A-Dream demo in BSK, and we apologize because we know there
are many people who will want to participate in both.
The first activity planned is the Brotherhood Housecarl Tourney. This is
planned for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and lasts about 2 hours. This tournament is
one of the most challenging five-weapon-style tourney this Kingdom has to
offer.... so be prepared!
Friday evening, we will rid the forest of a most evil presence...
WEREWOLVES!!! The war drums will echo into the night, armor will be donned,
hounds and hunters will gather, and blood will be spilled. Followed, of
course, by dancing and revelry into the night at the "Qadi's Palace."
On Saturday, we have scheduled many epic battles on various fighting fields,
castle siege's, bridge's, through cities, and finally to the gates of the
Holy City as the Arabs battle the Crusaders for conquest.
Saturday evening, the Qadi's Palace will once again open to all for revelry
and dancing. Please bring your best middle-eastern outfits so you can better
partake in the festivities. The bar will be open, but all are encouraged to
help bring supplies. We also need assistance in creating the perfect
atmosphere and ambiance for "Qadi's Palace," so please bring as many middle
eastern pillow, rugs, lanterns, decorations, etc. as you can spare.
The Brotherhood will be hosting a fund raising kitchen to help purchase a
period kitchen pavilion. The cost will be $35 which will cover lunch and
dinner on Friday; Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday (Yes, we will be
roasting gyro's on a spit); And brunch on Sunday. All are welcome. Please
R.S.V.P A.S.A.P to Qadi Dahoud by e-mail qadidahoud at yahoo.com or call
406-370-7435.
The site is "wetter than wet" (which means expect to party) period
containers please. Site fee will be $8.00 for adults, and kids only $4.00.
Directions to the site: From the South: Take your best route to Hwy 93.
Travel North to the Junction of Hwy 93 and Hwy 2 (center of Kalispell, MT).
Turn East onto Hwy 2 (Note: Hwy 2 will turn North in approximately 2-3
miles) continue East on what is now Hwy 35 to the Junction of Hwy 35 and Hwy
206. Turn North on Hwy 206 and Travel approximately 7 miles to Trap Rd. Turn
west on Trap Rd and look for the signs.
An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can still hold on to one blade of
grass and not fall off the face of the earth!
